JESTER WINS THIRD CONSECUTIVE “COLLEGE RADIO SHOW OF THE YEAR” AT TORONTO’S 2010 STYLUS AWARDS!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Toronto, ON (Canada) JUNE 7, 2010 – On Monday May 31, 2010, Jester solidified his long-standing status as one of Toronto’s most award-winning DJs by walking away from the 2010 Stylus DJ Awards with yet another win to his credit. Much to the delight of his many peers who attended the show, “North America’s Most Versatile DJ” Jester brought home the coveted College Radio Show Of The Year award. Jester’s 2010 Stylus Award was bestowed on him for his role as DJ, co-host and producer of The Worldwide Wake Up Show. This year (2010) marks the third consecutive time that Jester and Worldwide have won in the Best College Radio Show category.
Even before his win was announced at this year’s Stylus DJ Awards, Jester had already made Stylus history in 2010 by becoming the Most Nominated DJ for the second year in a row. Now that the winners have been announced, Jester can add yet another Stylus Award to his impressive collection of trophies from previous years (a total of 4 Stylus DJ Awards, and 2 Flavor Pool DJ Awards, plus numerous awards from various major record labels). Having won College Radio Show Of The Year for the last three years in a row, Jester and his Worldwide partner DJ Chief are now the first to ever Three-Peat in that category, and additionally, history will now record this as only the second time anyone has ever won Stylus Awards in the same category three years straight.
Held at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, Canada, the 2010 Stylus Award was attended by all of the elite members of in Canada’s DJ fraternity, and also boasted guest appearances by international Hip Hop sensation Drake and super-producer Boi 1da – both of whom are Toronto natives.
In true Hollywood award show style, Jester was outfitted for the show by the Fila clothing company, who were also one of the Stylus Award show’s major sponsors. Rocking an understated but smooth Fila ensemble, Jester confidently walked the red carpet, hobnobbed with other celebrity guests and subsequently accepted his Stylus Award, all decked from head to toe in the latest Fila gear.
Jester’s Stylus win was a fitting end to a hectic SpinFest weekend for the highly in-demand DJ, whose pre-awards itinerary included an interview with DJ Manifest and Flo on the “Toronto Morning Live” show (CHRY 105.5FM and TMLRadio.com), being featured in The Toronto Star, and playing at several high-profile events, not to mention actually enjoying some rare (for Jester) relaxation among his peers at the official Stylus DJ Mix N’ Mingle BBQ on Sunday (May 30, 2010).
Jester evoked cheers when he brought his acceptance speech to a close with brilliantly simple statement: “When one door closes another one opens”. Following that train of thought, Jester’s award-winning Worldwide Wake Up Show now gracefully fades to black as part of Toronto radio and Stylus Awards history, but Jester himself remains very much a brightly shining light in the Toronto DJ community. Toronto fans can continue to expect Jester’s never-ending onslaught of mixtapes, remixes and musical productions (via ThisIsJester.com), plus weekly club dates and, of course, his current radio shows.
Jester can be heard on “The X-Files Mix Show” (Tuesdays from 7pm to 10pm EST via Globe-Radio.com), “The Jesterdamus Mixshow” on (Wednesdays from 5pm to 6pm EST on Globe-Radio.com), and his new Saturday night gig, “Mixology” (from 9pm to 10pm EST) on The New FLOW 93.5FM (also featuring DJ Ritz, and Jester’s Smash Squad brother, Wristpect).

Congratulations! On your 3rd and final win for college radio show of the year. World Wide sure did wake me up on those morning when I needed motivation. And the drop in sessions at the studio was amazing. When I did make it out to the show.
Congratulations and Thanks for the memories of the World Wide Wake Up Show!
