I was getting my music ready for New Year’s Eve to smash the party I was playing at (Musicology NYE) and the infamous question came up… What is the song to ring in 2011? In my DJ pools I got so many different New Year’s Eve edits. From Far East Movement’s “Like A G6″ to Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time (Dirty Bit)”. All good songs, but to me something was missing… After a 25 minute conference meeting with De La Vega (via iChat) I pitched to him the idea of using Kanye’s “Runaway”. That was at 6:15pm New Year’s Eve. By 8:00pm we put out a mediafire link (1000+ downloads!! Thank you) and this is what we came up with.
